Church Life
How Can I Get Involved?
The best way to get to know us is to stop by on Sunday morning. After you’ve done that, if you want to get more involved at SGC, here are a few contexts for you to consider:
Simply Jesus Bible Studies
Maybe the message of Jesus (the gospel) is new to you. Maybe you just haven't been to church for years. Or maybe you have questions and you want to see for yourself what the Bible actually says about Jesus. If you'd like to learn more about Jesus and the Christian faith, Simply Jesus is a great next step for you.
This series of 8 simple Bible studies is designed so you can easily go through it, regardless of your background, and learn about the Bible's message along with a few other people in a non-threatening environment.
If you may be interested, please contact us or ask someone at the information table on Sunday morning.
Starting Point Class
This Sunday-morning series of classes is the best first step for believers who are interested in participating at SGC.
Starting Point gives
- an overview of our vision and values as a church,
- an opportunity to get to know the pastors,
- a context to consider membership at SGC (but you make no commitment to join the church simply by attending the classes).
We run this class several times per year. Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to find out when the next class will begin.
Small Groups
The Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation. God intends for us to grow as each of us cares for others and receives care from others (Eph. 4:15-16). One of the main ways we walk out this principle at SGC is through our small groups of about 10-20 people, which we call "care groups".
In these groups, church members enjoy building relationships and experiencing Biblical fellowship. The meetings typically involve:
- catching up with others,
- talking about how to apply God’s Word in the midst of our real-life trials and temptations,
- praying and worshipping together.
If you're interested in exploring membership at Sovereign Grace Church, you're welcome to visit a small group. Care groups meet in members' homes throughout the area. You can contact us to find out which group might be best for you.
